Site Work

Merit Construction began site work for the new Sacred Heart Cathedral on March 16, 2015. Architects of record are BarberMcMurry of Knoxville, Tennessee and ecclesiastic consultant James McCrery of Washington, D.C.

Keep up with the project:
Bridge Construction – Tree clearing, grading, and construction within the new bridge area along the North side of campus. Silt fencing and orange barricade fencing will be present.

New Chancery Parking – Install added parking at the West side of the Chancery to have available for Mass during Summer excavation work. Possible retaining wall at Chancery parking lot.

Cathedral Construction – Mobilization and erosion controls, site clearing and demolition, re-locate site utilities. Masonry reviews.

School Renovation – Fire marshal review

Site Grading & Utilities – Site work will be phased to allow continuous access to the existing facilities as needed. New electrical service.

School Renovation – Demolition of the Rectory and existing school entry canopy. Demolition of classroom windows and installation of new windows. All other work limited to the interior of the school – 100 wing demolition and renovation.

Cathedral Construction – Site excavation and fill, storm sewers, installation of stone walls between Chancery and Cathedral and Parish offices and People’s Bank.
