Dear Cathedral Parish Families,

Thank you for your generous support of the vital ministries of the Cathedral Parish. Recently, I received a letter from an elderly woman from upstate New York, thanking us for live-streaming our Masses. As she explained, she and her husband felt that they had found a church home here in Knoxville, TN, during the pandemic. Your stewardship gifts made this possible.

This past year alone, these gifts have allowed us to meet the needs of those families financially impacted by the virus, increase our connections with the youth and young adults through virtual game nights and community, and to continue our ministry during a time when all else was on pause.

On the weekends of October 24-25 and October 31- November 1, we will ask all of the parishioners of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to reflect upon the gifts they have received and prayerfully consider a gift to our Cathedral parish.

We are blessed to carry out the most important mission in the world – to help people meet Jesus Christ. How do we do that? We do that:

1.) Through dynamic worship, where we meet Jesus in the scriptures and taste Heaven in the Eucharist.

2.) Through adult and youth faith formation that helps to deepen knowledge of God’s will for all.

3.) Through service to the poor and vulnerable both locally and internationally. By our service to the poor, we touch the flesh of Jesus.

As you reflect upon what return you will make to the Lord, please consider that Scripture calls us to the Christian practice of tithing. I invite you to make a financial commitment in support of the ministries of the Cathedral parish by visiting https://shcathedral.weshareonline.org/ or by mailing in your pledge.

Your support enables Sacred Heart to strengthen the worship experience and improve our music. It will engage more adults in their faith. Your support helps us to strive towards our youth and adults participating in faith formation. Please join me in supporting our mission to worship, teach, and serve.

“For the measure you give, will in return be measured out to you.” – Luke 6:38

In Christ,
