First Day of Structural Steel at the new Cathedral

[/cs_text][cs_text]The first day of steel erection on the Sacred Heart campus began the morning of April 25, 2016. The crew from Quality Machine and Welding were able to peak everyone’s attention by constructing 4 steel columns in the area that leads from the Narthex to the Nave in the new church.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 5px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”thumbnail” src=”https://shcathedral.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Steel-arrives-042516.jpg” alt=”” link=”true” href=”https://shcathedral.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Steel-arrives-042516.jpg” title=”” target=”blank” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_video_embed no_container=”false” type=”16:9″][/x_video_embed][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”thumbnail” src=”https://shcathedral.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Men-of-Steel.jpg” alt=”” link=”true” href=”https://shcathedral.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Men-of-Steel.jpg” title=”” target=”blank” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 5px 0px 4px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Quality Machine and Welding is a local Knoxville company and an industry leader in the production of high quality structural steel with over forty years of experience. Their team of Engineers, Drafters, Fabricators and Erectors will take the Cathedral from fabrication to installation. Steel erection is a continuous process with approximately 60 working days on site. Completion date of structural steel is anticipated to be mid-July depending on weather. We are fortunate to have this great team ensuring a successful steel set.

Father David Boettner said, “It is such a blessing to work with great companies like Quality Machine and Welding, Merit Construction and the many fabulous subcontractors who also see this as much more than a building. The first day of placing the steel structure is when it starts to get very real. May God bless our Diocese and all of those involved in building our Mother Church.”
