What is #iGiveCatholic? #iGiveCatholic is the first-ever giving day created to rally the Catholic community on #GivingTuesday, November 28th. For this year’s cause, we have chosen Haiti Outreach and their goal of funding a medical mission trip to Guillaume, Haiti. It is a vital mission that needs your prayers and assistance.

The critical fact here is that infant mortality in this region is about 50%, meaning that one of every two children dies before age four. Guillaume has never had a doctor come to their village, ever. The doctors can see about 100 patients a day.

A medical mission is a complicated and ambitious effort. There is no road to Guillaume, meaning that all supplies of food, water and medicines must be carried by donkeys. We must hire translators and a Haitian pharmacist to help the doctors. There are also transportation costs to and from the airport in Port-au-Prince.

Medicines are the most significant single cost for a medical mission. We always run out, which leaves the doctors frustrated and sad. Any assistance you could give us to help purchase medicines would be of enormous value.

An advanced donation can be made by going to iGiveCatholic.org and searching for Sacred Heart Cathedral. Thank you, for your help
