May is the month that the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is responsible for buying food and stocking the shelves of the West Knox FISH Pantry, located in the basement of the rectory of Church of the Savior on the corner of Weisgarber and Lonas Rds.

During this pandemic and economic crisis, the hungry and unemployed in our area depend on the emergency food that this pantry supplies. The Sacred Heart FISH ministry team is looking for a few helping hands to assemble the food bags that will be distributed in the coming weeks.

The volunteer team will practice social distancing as much as possible inside the pantry and will take precautions to protect each other as well as the FISH pantry clients. Volunteers MUST wear a face mask and are encouraged to bring their own water and hand sanitizer (our supplies are limited). Volunteers should know that there is no bathroom on the premises, but we will bring soap and a large jug of water to make handwashing possible before and after the session. Volunteers should also wear close-toed shoes for personal safety.
